January 2011 – THE IDEA
There are so many sites which offer specific information on couponing, deals, shopping tips, contests, surveys, samples and more. I wanted to offer a hub for these sites, mostly for the users in search of this information, but also for the site owners to get their word out.
Being a blogger, operating a coupon site or even a Facebook or Twitter page takes a lot of dedication and time. I applaud those who do so and offer this as a portal for them to submit their site to the directory for FREE.
Why?
It all started with contests, when I was pregnant with my son. Many sleepless nights (with heartburn) had me addicted to the internet. I entered a few contests here and there and half-way through my pregnancy I won a $500 gift certificate at Gap.com. This was over eleven years ago. Looking back, there was one other instance of importance prior to that. When I was a young teen I entered a contest at Eckerd Drug Stores, now Rite-Aid, for a stereo. Granted, it wasn’t a Sony or an Aiwa, but I won it!! Since my win at Gap.com I have won the following: 2004 – $700 cash from Atlanta’s Star 94May 3, 2005 – A 7 day cruise for two on Carnival Glory from Atlanta’s 95.5 The Beat Nov 10, 2005 – $1000 cash from Atlanta’s 92.9 Dave FM January 6, 2006 – $250 gift card from Sephora I’ve also won several other cash prizes up to $100. So, I wanted to share my wealth with you in the form of information.
